Doctor Triage System

Each morning we have a triage system  the GP uses to establish patients problems.

  • Receptionists who answer calls in the morning  are based in a private room at the back of reception, away from the public who cannot hear anything that is being discussed.
  • Patients are put on a list, given an approximate time & the Triage Doctor will call back.
  • This system can use up to 35 appointments which is double  what a normal GP would see on a daily basis, therefore offering more appointments.

We are using the triage system to help you get what you need as efficiently as possible and to allocate our valuable and limited appointments in the best way.

Please provide us with as much information as possible to enable us to assist you effectively with your problem.

There are times when you may decide you don’t need to see the Doctor after all. Perhaps a problem has cropped up at short notice and you can’t attend. Whatever the reason, PLEASE let us know and we can offer your appointment to someone else. Ring the main surgery number, send a fax, use our 24hr Cancellation Hotline on 01270 376888.

Telephone Advice
If you need advice please telephone the surgery . A note will be made of your call and one of the nurses or doctors will ring you back, normally at the end of their surgeries.

Home Visits
The Medical Centre has all the facilities needed for examination, investigation and treatment. It is in your best interests to attend the surgery if at all possible. Housebound patients should request visits before 10:30am. Home visit and urgent requests may be handled by a doctor or triage nurse to assess the priority of the case and decide the best course of action. This could include advice only, attending an emergency surgery or a home visit.
